Carnivorous Plants
When you mention a carnivorous plant exhibit at the botanical garden to a 7 year old, chances are he’s not going to let you forget it. So one steamy morning we headed off to explore. Bode explained to me later that he was expecting to be able to feed the plants bugs, or that there would be some kind of show. Unfortunately, none of this happened and the exhibit was a little of a let down. We did manage to see one ant in the pitcher of a large pit-fall trap plant (we did learn the various trap methods of these plants).
But, the day wasn’t a total loss, as the rest of the gardens were beautiful, and a nice break from the beach. The real highlight for us though, was the wildlife. We spotted monkeys, hummingbirds and even a toucan.
I like the water bird with the black legs and yellow feet! Also, nice composition with the water fountain and Jesus on the rock.
