Lavras Novas

We decided to keep heading up into the hills. We keep hearing that it’s cooler inland, but we’ve yet to experience it. It’s been so hot up here that we can’t imagine what it must be like back on the coast.

A few hours up the road was the small mountain town of Lavras Novas. It’s small, so there’s not much here, but it’s an interesting drive. Something about it reminded us of Colombia.

After a quick stroll through town, we headed out to a repressa where we could camp for free. Angela was not too impressed with the route I chose. It was only 4 kilometers and labeled as a 4×4 trail, but we made it. If it was 5k, we wouldn’t have. Maybe she would have enjoyed the ride a bit more if we could figure out a good fix for her seat springs.

It was peaceful at the lake. At night we finally got some cooler weather, but it was still warm enough for a late-night swim.

After so much time in cities recently, it’s nice to be feeling small against a big sky.

Meus caros amigos, que coragem, largar tudo e sair com a família e conhecer o que tiver de conhecer, gostaria também de ter esta coragem.
Que DEUS os acompanhem netas estradas.

Hello, I’m Julia and I am extremely happy to read about your story. What happens is: I have many ideas and thoughts different of the ones of our society, I work at a big company in town, working nine hours a day, I study engineering and every day that passes more and more bury me in depression. Honestly, I feel any day, not so far, i’m throwing everything up. The only thing that holds me in this situation is the person I’m married now, that despite pact with my ideals, hold me in town. Another factor is the fact that I have no money and no independent income to do what I want. what I want is to live free, to know the nature and the world, I don’r want luxury, i want freedom, I want to know what it is! I’m writing cause I am desperate. Every day I think I’m gonna do something crazy, i dont know how, but there are times when I think I’ll throw it all away. My psychiatrist prescribed many drugs I take to help my nerves, they have made ??me more calm and without this constant thoughts, but when I stop and think I see that common life is not for me … The fact is that I gave up my musiscista career about eight years ago to devote myself to this life “normal” .. I feel that I took the wrong way and I feel failed … I’m not a happy person…

Do you have any advice for me? Very grateful for the attention,

    Julia
