The Road to Philly

We meandered up through Virginia and found a campsite in the National Forest before crossing over to West Virginia at Harper’s Ferry. Lots of interesting history here, and despite the heat we took in all the exhibits and Bode got another Jr. Ranger badge.

Next up, Pennsylvania. Maturity levels in the bus plummeted as we drove through Intercourse. The area however, was fascinating. Lots of couples and families out for a ride in their carriage. Oddly, there were plenty of Amish women using weed wackers and lawn mowers. The simple life has been been modified, I suppose.

We spent the night in a state park (with bunnies!) outside of Philadelphia and headed into the city the next morning.

But the heat and the insane amount of summer tourists cut our day short. We did manage to see the Liberty Bell, get a Jr. Ranger badge, and eat a Philly cheese steak. All-in-all a successful visit.

Our buddies from Mali-Mish were featured in Sunset magazine this month. The article mentions three of the vehicles they’ve traveled in, but the photo pictures their son Luka in our Red Beard!
