To Salvador

We finally said goodbye to Barre Grande – it was kinda tough to leave. We headed up the coast to Salvador and had to make the conscious choice to skip over a few popular destinations.  Namely, Morro de Sao Paulo, Ilha Boipeba and Parque Nacional Da Chapada Diamantina.

We can’t see it all with our extremely limited 6 month visit to Brazil. It might seem ridiculous to read that, but 6 months is nowhere near enough time to experience all of Brazil. So, we’ll save those places for the next time we pass through.

Going north, there’s a ferry to Salvador that saves about 100 km of driving, so it’s worth the wait. We were lucky and were the final vehicle allowed on the balsa. No waiting today.

Interesting to note that you are now as close to Africa as you are to Argentina. Which way will you go?

Happy Easter to the whole crew…
