Bodega Isasmendi

Finally, wine country! High altitude, desert wine country.

We drove around the valley near Cachi to take in some sites, and try a little local vino. Things in Argentina are always closed, but we managed to slip into Bodega Isasmendi, a tiny French run vineyard close to town. Dad is the vintner and the daughter gives the tours. They’ve grown to 5 employees in the last 5 years. When we were there they were corking the bottles one by one. Seems like the perfect family business.

The views were spectacular, as was the malbec.
